Private Yacht Arrival Process

  • All private yachts must obtain clearance from HM Customs at the eastern end of Ordnance Island in St. George's.
  • The boarding officer handles immigration, customs, and health formalities onboard and collects a $35 USD passenger tax per person.
  • Contact Bermuda Radio upon approach for guidance into St. George's Harbour and directions to the customs berth.
  • Yachts from overseas ports typically experience minimal formalities.

Extended Stays for Yachts and Crew

Since June 1, 2011, visiting yachtsmen and crew receive an initial three-month stay. To qualify, provide:

  • Proof of citizenship

  • A declaration against seeking employment in Bermuda

The fee is $250 per crew member or passenger. Extensions up to three more months are available via the Department of Immigration for $100.
