Navigating Bermuda: The Ultimate Guide to Island Transportation
Bermuda, at just 21 square miles, is compact, safe, and straightforward to explore. Discover the best transportation options tailored to your needs.
Motor Vehicles

Visitors can now rent electric cars to tour the island. A popular choice is the two-seat Twizy from Current Vehicles Bermuda, available at spots like the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club. Named for “twin” and “easy,” this Renault Formula One-designed vehicle offers up to 50 miles per charge, Wi-Fi connectivity, and is available first-come, first-served to drivers 18+ with a valid license.
Rent a Scooter or Bicycle
Rent scooters (mopeds) or pedal bicycles from various island providers. These are perfect for navigating Bermuda’s winding streets and scenic coastal roads.
For added ease, try hybrid electric bicycles, which combine traditional cycling fun, exercise, and zero emissions with an electric boost for the island’s steeper hills.
Note: Driving is on the left, speeds are capped at 20 mph (32 kph), and helmets are mandatory for safety.
Public Transportation

Bermuda’s public buses and ferries are reliable, affordable, and a fantastic way to connect with locals. They operate year-round.
Avoid fumbling for exact change by purchasing a Transportation Pass for 1-7 days of unlimited bus and ferry travel. Available at the Central Terminal on Washington Street, Visitor Service Centres in Hamilton, Royal Naval Dockyard, St. George, and other outlets.
