New Signs Spotlight Happy Valley's Thriving Agricultural Attractions
Since its launch in October 2019, Happy Valley Agventures has boosted awareness of Centre County's robust agriculture through an engaging website linking visitors to local establishments and a dynamic social media presence highlighting activities on fields, farms, and farmers markets.
Planning your next Agventure is now simpler, thanks to vibrant new signage at Happy Valley Agventures destinations across the county.
A collaborative effort by The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau (HVAB) and the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County (CBICC), Happy Valley Agventures promotes agritourism countywide, showcasing the region's exceptional agricultural assets and driving tourism growth.
CBICC President and CEO Vern Squier notes that the signs identify participating destinations while elevating awareness of the county's agricultural offerings and heritage.
“This initiative, now enhanced with clear markers for participating sites, brings our agricultural heritage to life,” Squier said. “We encourage visits to public destinations and a deeper appreciation for agriculture's vital role in our community and economy.”
Signage began appearing the weekend of August 14.
HVAB President and CEO Fritz Smith highlights destinations including small growers, farmers markets, farm stores, equestrian centers, farm-to-fork restaurants, craft beverage producers, and more.
“As fall approaches—an ideal time to visit Happy Valley—these signs will attract attention to authentic experiences, connect visitors with local products, and foster appreciation for agriculture's contributors,” Smith said.
Currently, 55 destinations are featured on www.happyvalleyagventures.com, with more additions planned. Eligibility requires public access and an agriculture connection.
An upcoming agricultural heritage driving tour will guide visitors through scenic valleys and farmlands, spotlighting sites key to Happy Valley's farming legacy.
