Lobby Grille's Authentic Cheesesteaks Set to Break World Record in Philadelphia

Lobby Grille s Authentic Cheesesteaks Set to Break World Record in Philadelphia

Since opening We Are Inn/Lobby Grille in late 2019, owner Pat Romano has dreamed of bringing authentic Philadelphia cheesesteaks to Happy Valley, PA. Despite pandemic challenges in 2020, customer enthusiasm has been overwhelming, and the buzz is growing.

Romano reports that more than half his patrons now travel from beyond Philipsburg. His exceptional cheesesteaks fuel the restaurant's rising success and reputation as a premier steak shop.

This acclaim positions Lobby Grille to make cheesesteak history in Philadelphia itself. On May 10, Romano joins 49 elite shops from the Philly area to shatter the world record for the largest cheesesteak.

He'll construct a 10-foot section of the massive 500-foot sub, surpassing the prior 480-foot record. His signature "Pat’s Way" Dutch cheesesteak features American cheese, extra Cheese Whiz, fried onions, fried mushrooms, cherry peppers, and ketchup on a Corropolese Italian Bakery hoagie roll.

The Food Network will cover the event, set for 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Italian Market, 1172 S. 9th Street.

Earning "cheesesteak royalty" status and contributing to a world record offers welcome relief after a tough year—but it signifies deeper validation.

"It confirms we're doing it right," Romano says. He's promoted his cheesesteaks to food bloggers, Facebook groups, and competitive eaters to spotlight Lobby Grille.

The invitation affirms what Happy Valley locals and visitors know: Romano's cheesesteaks are top-tier.
