Broadway at the Beach Presents Great American Summer Nights: Myrtle Beach Family Entertainment
From June 1 through September 1, 2019, Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, delivered nightly family-friendly fun and live entertainment as part of the Great American Summer Nights series. Highlights included fire dancers, stilt walkers, character appearances, musical performances, fireworks displays, and more throughout the summer.
Broadway at the Beach is a beloved destination featuring restaurants, attractions, and shops for every family member. The addition of nightly summer entertainment made it an essential stop on any Myrtle Beach vacation. This year's Great American Summer Nights also honored military service members through a partnership with Blue Star Mothers of America.
Blue Star Mothers of America is a nonprofit organization supporting mothers of active-duty military personnel and their children via various initiatives. Visitors were invited to write thank-you notes, letters, cards, or drawings for troops at the Mail For Our Military station in the Guest Services Center. These were collected all summer and included in care packages by Blue Star Mothers.
Broadway at the Beach donated loose change from its three fountains and sold red, white, and blue souvenir bracelets for $1 at the Guest Services Center, with all proceeds benefiting Blue Star Mothers.
In July, Broadway at the Beach partnered with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for a Toys for Tots drive, accepting new, unwrapped toys at the Guest Services Center.
This philanthropic focus enhanced the summer series, uniting the Myrtle Beach community in support of military families. Here's the full Great American Summer Nights entertainment schedule:
