The Hangout: Vibrant Gulf-Inspired Dining and Family Entertainment Arrives at Broadway at the Beach
The Hangout: Gulf-Inspired Menu, Live Music, and Family Fun Await
Broadway at the Beach, Myrtle Beach's top family entertainment destination in South Carolina, proudly announces The Hangout. This dynamic restaurant, retail, and entertainment venue is the first addition to the new Entertainment District under construction at the southeast corner of the property.
Opening in late 2020, The Hangout will serve as a premier spot for exceptional food and family enjoyment. Its menu highlights seasonal seafood, beachside burgers, sandwiches, tacos, and fresh appetizers and sides crafted from local ingredients in a state-of-the-art kitchen built to serve thousands daily. Live music performances will entertain guests year-round on both indoor and outdoor stages.

The Hangout delivers unique family entertainment with energetic cast-led dancing and contests, a playful sand pile, fire pits, and courtyard games. Spanning 40,000 square feet, it features a whimsical retail store and curated art installations like a wall of rare antique lunch boxes, an extensive Pez dispenser collection, a "wish wall," and interactive displays. Sports fans can watch games on multiple big screens.
Year-round special events include the enchanting Pirates and Princesses breakfast with family-style meals, treasure hunts, and performances by pirate- and princess-clad entertainers.
"We are thrilled to welcome The Hangout, a beloved Gulf Coast family entertainment staple, to Broadway at the Beach," said Chad E. Carlson, executive vice president of the Commercial Division at Burroughs & Chapin. "Its high-energy, family-friendly vibe will delight all ages and perfectly enhance our curated guest experiences."
This Broadway at the Beach location is the second for The Hangout, created by trailblazer Shaul Zislin. The original in Gulf Shores, Alabama, opened in 2008 and hosts the annual Hangout Music Festival in May.
"Broadway at the Beach is the ideal home for our next chapter," said Shaul Zislin, co-founder of The Hangout Hospitality Group with his wife Lilly, the creative director. "The Hangout brings generations together for lasting memories and endless fun."
