March Tickets Now on Sale for Market Common Myrtle Beach History Trolley Tours

Tickets are now available for the first March installment of the popular Myrtle Beach History Trolley Tours. This series has sold out every tour in January and February, drawing both locals and visitors. Departing every Tuesday at 2 p.m. from in front of the Grand 14 Cinemas at The Market Common, these narrated tours offer an engaging dive into the area's rich past.

The "Early Myrtle Beach & The War Years" tour stops at historic Pine Lakes Country Club, recounting the city's origins and WWII experiences, including U-boat threats and German POW arrivals. The "Myrtle Beach History, Movies & Music" tour explores the city's growth, iconic films, and influential music, with visits to the Jack Thompson Gallery—where guests meet the renowned local photographer and historian—and the South Carolina Music and Movie Hall of Fame.
As a longtime Myrtle Beach resident, I experienced the "Early Myrtle Beach & The War Years" tour last year. Led by expert curator Kathryn Hedgepath, the one-hour narrated journey visited Warbird Park, the General Robert H. Reed Recreation Center's military museum, and the Myrtle Beach International Airport’s Norton General Aviation Terminal, featuring historic Base Operations displays. The tour concluded with a catered reception at Tupelo Honey around 3 p.m., blending delicious Southern fare with opportunities to share stories with fellow history enthusiasts.

Tickets for the tour and reception are $30, including catered refreshments at Tupelo Honey. Purchase tickets or learn more at MarketCommonMB.com/events.
