Dosti Music Project Finale: Cross-Cultural Harmony at Bessie Smith Cultural Center – March 19, 2016

Worlds Unite in Music at Bessie Smith Cultural Center

Initiated by the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan, the Dosti Music Project—meaning 'friendship' in Urdu and Hindi—brings together Pakistani, Indian, and U.S. musicians from diverse traditions, including Sufi singing, beatmaking, and avant-garde jazz. Participants collaboratively compose, record, and perform original music, reimagine traditional sounds, and launch community initiatives with positive local and global impact, transcending political and cultural divides through music.

The project's 2016 grand finale concert takes place at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center in Chattanooga on March 19, 2016. The venue transforms into a warm, living-room-style space, offering an intimate, unforgettable performance paired with delectable cuisine from Sitar Indian Cuisine.

Celebrate the culmination of this remarkable collaboration and enjoy the original songs and stories crafted by the 10 Dosti Fellows during their month-long journey.
