Ghost Ranch Tempe Review: A Local's Honest Take on Modern Southwestern Cuisine

By Delaney Wood

Ghost Ranch stands out as one of Tempe's newest hotspots, specializing in innovative Southwestern cuisine. During a lively Wednesday evening rush, my friends and I experienced swift seating, attentive staff, and outstanding flavors. Our server impressed us by delivering water glasses proactively—a hallmark of top-tier service.

With a Hispanic upbringing filled with masterful homemade Mexican dishes from my mother and grandmother, I'm a tough critic for such fare. I opted for the grilled chicken enchiladas, accompanied by rice, beans, and a signature house margarita. Each element delivered a fresh twist on timeless recipes while honoring authentic home-cooked essence. The margarita? Bold and balanced.

To capture the vibe, I spoke with other patrons, who raved about the food, ambiance, and overall experience—even swapping recommendations. Families with kids dove into enchiladas and sides. The desert-toned décor, spacious open layout, and versatile seating options (tables, benches, or bar) created a welcoming, community-like atmosphere.

I've returned twice since opening and plan more visits. For a time-strapped college student near campus, its convenience is unbeatable. Brunch is next on my list!

This really must be one of the wettest Januarys on record here in the UK. Hence this wet and miserable January provided me with plenty of good opportunity to go out testing the new iPhone 5 waterproof case from Lifedge; from trying to get the winter training miles in on my bike, onto wandering over the Malvern hills looking for

First came the dull crack of the speargun fired through the clear Pacific water, its target hidden by thick kelp forest. Barely a moment later, as Hank and I watched, Malia turned and swam the 6m to the surface to begin pulling in the line. We hoped there’d be something big on the end of it. We were hungry. At Ventura Harbour, 45 miles north of Malibu, California, we loaded our equipment onto the ferry bound for the Channel Islands. There were kayaks and surfboards, spearguns and cameras, t
