Disney’s 40-Year‑Old Hoop‑Dee‑Doo Musical Revue: A Timeless Celebration
Since its debut on September 5, 1974, the Hoop‑Dee‑Doo Musical Revue has become one of the United States’ longest‑running dinner shows. The show has delivered more than 37,000 performances to over 10.5 million guests, all set in a faithful replica of an Old‑West dance hall at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
Families can enjoy the revue three times a night, each showing blending Americana, classic storytelling and hearty, family‑style dining. Guests are served all‑you‑can‑eat buckets of chicken, ribs, cornbread and classic sides, while a healthier option—marinated grilled salmon with squash and zucchini—offers a lighter choice. The dessert has remained a strawberry shortcake since 1979, a change that has become a fan favorite.
The cast has remained largely unchanged over the decades. Lead singers Jim Handy and Flora Long guide the musical narrative, while Johnny Ringo and Claire de Lune bring the choreography to life. The show’s comic relief is provided by Six Bits Slocum and Dolly Drew, whose performances have earned a loyal following.
