Dallas Celebrates LGBTQ+ Pride: Join MetroBall 2017 for Music, Community, and a Cause
While Dallas schedules its official Pride celebrations for September, the global community marks the historic 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan every June, commemorating the birth of the modern LGBTQ+ civil‑rights movement. Regardless of the calendar, Dallas embraces its LGBTQ+ community throughout the year, especially during Pride Month.
Over the years, a variety of events has given locals and visitors a chance to celebrate and honor the significance of Pride Month, but the 12th‑annual MetroBall has emerged as the definitive soirée.
This year, MetroBall keeps the "June Pride" tradition alive with a vibrant party featuring award‑winning dance‑music icons Taylor Dayne, touring on her "Tell It To My Heart" tour, and CeCe Peniston. American Idol LGBTQ+ finalist David Hernandez will host the festivities at the S4 nightclub on the Cedar Springs Strip.
All proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction go to the Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund (GDMAF), which has raised over $500,000 to date and has helped more than 3,000 people living with HIV/AIDS.
This is the perfect way to get the Dallas community in rainbow‑filled spirit ahead of the fall celebration, while supporting an even greater cause.
