Top NYC Pride 2019 Parties: Broadway Bares, WorldPride Concerts with Madonna & More

NYC Pride 2019 culminates with the iconic Pride March on June 30, but the month-long celebration features over 50 events, including unforgettable parties, concerts, and gatherings. As experts in New York City's vibrant LGBTQ+ scene, we've curated the must-attend highlights for an exhilarating Pride experience.

Broadway Bares

Since the early 1990s, Broadway's top singers and dancers have dazzled audiences with this renowned burlesque fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Performers deliver striptease routines to classic show tunes, often joined by celebrity guests like Alison Janney and Judith Light. The 2019 "Take-Off" theme promises aviation-inspired antics and playful Mile High Club humor.

Two shows are scheduled for the evening of June 16, with the midnight performance being the raunchiest. Though not an official Pride event, Broadway Bares is a quintessential NYC extravaganza with a rainbow flair—all proceeds support a vital cause.

Pride Island

This sold-out highlight on Manhattan's Pier 97 demands tickets via StubHub for Grace Jones's legendary Saturday night set. At 70, the iconic supermodel, singer, and actress vows an historic performance—brush up on Pull Up to the Bumper.

Sunday brings Madonna, who called Pride Island "where I was born," fresh from her GLAAD honors. Additional acts include Pabllo Vittar, Teyana Taylor, Kim Petras, Amara La Negra, and DJ Johnny Dynell.

VIP Rooftop

Relocated to the spacious The Park in West Chelsea with High Line views, this official NYC Pride fundraiser features DJs Grind, Tony Armada, Ben Baker, and Kitty Glitter. Proceeds fund free family and youth events—expect top vibes and impressive crowds.

Femme Fatale

The following day, Femme Fatale celebrates femininity at The Park with L.A. DJ Kittens headlining. Now in its fourth year, this inclusive party empowers women in dance music through her workshops and mentorship.

WorldPride Closing Ceremony

Cap off WorldPride 2019 with Grammy winner Melissa Etheridge headlining, hosted by Margaret Cho. Enjoy Jake Shears, MNEK, Deborah Cox, and The Prom cast, ending with the torch passed to Copenhagen and Malmö for 2021. Free with registration; $150 for VIP access.
