Dallas Black Tie Dinner Weekend Guide: Events, Dining, & Nightlife
Black is back. The Black Tie Dinner weekend is upon us and there is plenty to do beyond just the Saturday dinner. Since its inception in 1982, Black Tie Dinner has been the largest fundraising dinner for the LGBTQ+ community nationwide.
Before Black Tie Dinner: B4Black, the pre‑party, runs Friday 6:30‑8:30 pm at the Sheraton Downtown Dallas. This cocktail‑casual event is open to the public and showcases donated items for silent auction. Afterwards, guests head to the Cedar Springs Strip for Dallas’s vibrant LGBT nightlife.
During Black Tie Dinner: On Saturday, dress to impress for the 7 pm dinner. This year the honorees include acclaimed playwright Terrence McNally, local hero Eric Folkerth, and LGBTQ+ rights icon Edie Windsor.
After Black Tie Dinner: The party continues with DJ Jeremy Blacklow, turning the evening into one of Dallas’s premier after‑party experiences. Complimentary cocktails and nonstop dancing are on the agenda.
Extend the festivities with a boozy brunch at favorites such as Sprezza, 18th, and Vine, or a food‑truck lunch at Klyde Warren Park. After a margarita, refuel with a brisk walk along the Katy Trail, pausing at the Ice House for a post‑sweat mimosa.
Hosting friends? Treat them to cultural gems like the Sixth Floor Museum, Dallas Museum of Art, or Reunion Tower GeO‑Deck. For shopping enthusiasts, NorthPark Center and Galleria Dallas are must‑visit destinations.
