Black Tie Dinner 2024: Dallas’s Premier LGBTQ Fundraising Gala

Black Tie Dinner is the nation’s largest single‑night fundraiser for the LGBTQ community, and for nearly 40 years it has graced Dallas’s skyline. This year the gala returns to the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, promising an evening of world‑class entertainment, inspiring education, and powerful community empowerment.

Mark your calendars for the weekend of November 1–2. On Friday, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., the pre‑event cocktail soirée B4Black welcomes guests to sample auction items, mingle over signature cocktails, and rally support for LGBTQ causes.

Saturday kicks off with a pre‑dinner cocktail reception at 5 p.m. in the Lone Star Ballroom’s Preconvene lounge. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the dinner officially begins at 7 p.m. After the meal, guests are invited to the “After Black” after‑party, featuring live music, dancing, and additional cocktails.

Presented by BBVA, the event announced last month that award‑winning actor and activist Billy Porter will attend—though the exact performance details remain a surprise. The keynote lineup also includes Alphonso David, the newly elected president of the Human Rights Campaign, with additional marquee speakers expected in the coming weeks.

All proceeds support 16 North Texas nonprofits and the national Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Last year, the dinner raised nearly $1.2 million for these organizations, and 2024 is poised to exceed that record. Beneficiaries span youth and family services, spirituality and community, health and legal services, and LGBTQ‑focused entertainment and education.

Tickets are still available. For full details on tickets, schedules, and expectations, visit the Black Tie Dinner website.
