Your Ultimate Guide to the 2018 Black‑Tie Dinner in Dallas

The largest LGBTQ fundraising dinner in the United States returns to Dallas on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Dallas. If you’re planning to attend the 2018 Annual Black‑Tie Dinner, read on for a comprehensive guide to the weekend’s dining, events, and local attractions.

Friday

Arrive in Dallas early on Friday and explore the city’s vibrant food scene. Top picks include Sassetta in the Design District, offering specialty pizzas, pastas, and salads; Flora Street Café in the Arts District, created by chef Stephan Pyles; and Bullion, where Chef Bruno revisits classic French dishes with a modern twist.

The evening begins with the B4Black Auction Preview Party (8‑10 p.m.) at the Sheraton, giving guests a chance to preview auction items and mingle before the main event on Saturday night.

Saturday

Before the ceremony, take an Uber to Highland Park, a sophisticated North Dallas enclave known for brunch, shopping, and scenic views. Enjoy a pre‑BTD cocktail and soak in the local atmosphere.

The Black‑Tie Dinner features an impressive roster of speakers and performers, including Representative Beto O'Rourke. A luxury auction supports LGBTQ advocacy organizations across North Texas and nationwide.

After the dinner, you have two options: stay for the After Black event at the Sheraton, or venture into Dallas’ nightlife. Oak Lawn’s gayborhood offers a variety of venues, from S4 (Station 4), a nightclub with nightly drag shows, to Round Up Saloon, a casual bar that welcomes all, and Sue Ellen's, a celebrated lesbian nightclub. Cedar Springs Road is also lined with popular spots for dancing and drinks.

Regardless of how you spend the evening, your attendance makes a tangible difference for the LGBTQ community and offers a memorable, impactful experience.

Sunday

On Sunday, after the event, head to Uptown for late brunch. Henry’s Majestic is a favorite for its signature Sopaipilla Waffle, while the neighborhood hosts numerous other brunch options to satisfy any palate.
