Ultimate 3-Day Santa Fe Itinerary: The Perfect Weekend Getaway in New Mexico

Guest post by Ashley of Surf and Sunshine, sharing her unforgettable weekend in Santa Fe.

Before arriving, I knew Santa Fe was in New Mexico and that tamales were a must. As I lifted the plane shade, the vibrant red landscape and Sandia Mountains came into view. With just 72 hours, we hit the ground running after landing in Albuquerque.

Santa Fe, known as The City Different, offered far more than expected. This curated 3-day itinerary blends relaxation, culture, history, art, and cuisine for an ideal weekend escape.

Day One: Relaxation at Ojo Santa Fe

Day Two: History, Art, and Culinary Delights

Mornings in Santa Fe are crisp—even in late summer—at 7,200 feet elevation. Layer up, stay hydrated, and head to El Rancho de las Golondrinas as the sun warms the day.

This historic site, dating to the 1600s, was a self-sustaining ranch and rest stop on the Camino Real. Now a living museum, it preserves adobe structures and period artifacts for an immersive history lesson.
