Links We Love: June 9, 2012 – Curated Favorites for Armchair Travelers

Links We Love, a compendium of what we're loving right now. Happy armchair traveling.

Pavia, founder/CEO

I left Italy and Croatia four days before the European Football Championship kicked off. I know nothing about soccer, but I love a good match and I appreciate Esquire UK's alternative guide. (Though, guys, really, where's Italy?)

On the topic of things-I'm-not-usually-into, Croatia is all about camping, and I've been drooling over the images on Cabin Porn. I know, it's unladylike to drool over porn, but you click on that and tell me you don't want to buy a sleeping bag.

Crystal, creative director

Yo Vintage (my favorite vintage shopping website) just opened, bricks-and-mortar-style, in Portland. Until I get up there, owner Sarah Radcliffe's latest lookbook, Prints Ahoy!, will keep me dreaming of seagull graphics and summer by the lake.

I love me some '70s counterculture, and filmmakers Mary Wigmore and Sara Lamm, so naturally I'm excited to check out their new documentary, Birth Story: Ina May Gaskin and the Farm Midwives, set in rural Tennessee.

The plan is to head to Shanghai for a few days this summer. From the looks of things, there is a little underground exploring to do.

Berit, assistant editor

Blue capris: European on business. Red capris: European on holiday. Plaid capris: European on way to rehab. And so goes Wendi Aarons' fantastically hysterical essay Airplane Passengers as Explained by their Pants — kind of makes you reconsider your travel wardrobe.

Love, love, love this Kickstarter project by graphic designer Alana Zawojski. ZigZag City Guides are designed for the mini-traveler in your life. The Rome version includes a kid-friendly map of Vatican City and a deck of cards with facts and activities to help learn Italian phrases and sites like the Colosseum.
