Vegan Gyro at The Artist's Palette, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

I may have found another new favorite vegan quick service option at Walt Disney World. Over at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort lies two hidden gem vegan options, one for breakfast and one for lunch and dinner. If you’ve read for a while you probably saw my rave review of the Harvest Breakfast Sandwich, which is a top tier breakfast option in my opinion. But the lunch/dinner option here does not disappoint either.

The Artists’s Palette is this resorts main quick service dining location. It’s conveniently located near the pool and is off the main lobby of the resort. You can either mobile order or order in person. There are also several grab and go snack and beverage options. This resort is easy to get to from Disney Springs if you want to pop over.

During lunch and dinner the vegan option is the Plant-based Gyro. The gyro features a baked pita filled with vegan sausage, hummus, vegan tzatziki, crispy chickpeas, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, kalamata olives, and golden raisins with a herbed-red wine vinaigrette. You have the option of house-made chips or grapes for your side.

I was a little nervous going into this because it looked like it was going to be a real mess, but it all held up together really well. The sausage seems to be Field Roast brand and there wasn’t very much of it in it (which is not a complaint). The pita was full of veggies and tzatziki sauce.

Throughout the whole thing I was waiting to have a strong raisin taste at some point, but that never happened. The pita held together the whole time and all the flavors and textures worked really well together. I love an option with fresh veggies!

If you are wanting to avoid faux meat, I would assume you could order this without the sausage. There was plenty of veggies and chickpeas in it to keep you happy.

I would absolutely recommend this option to anyone who likes pita pockets. The flavors were great, the veggies were crisp, the tzatziki was creamy and delicious, and the Field Roast added a nice heat to it. I will absolutely get this again!
