Soar Above Chattanooga: Ultimate Hang Gliding, Skydiving & Ziplining Adventures
Nicknamed the Scenic City, Chattanooga offers stunning vistas from Lookout Mountain, the Riverwalk, and Sunset Rock. But for a truly unforgettable perspective, take to the skies over the Tennessee River Valley. Whether you prefer the serene glide of hang gliding or the adrenaline rush of skydiving, these aerial adventures deliver breathtaking views you'll cherish forever.
Hang Gliding
Established in 1978, the Lookout Mountain Hang Gliding Flight Park is one of the nation's oldest hang gliding schools and the world leader in training solo pilots. Expert instructors guide beginners from gentle bunny hill flights to soaring summits above Chattanooga.
For newcomers, tandem flights provide an accessible thrill. Start with morning ground training and short hops (5-10 feet high), then tandem-launch from 1,500 or 3,000 feet over Lookout Valley. No prior experience needed—just pure excitement to cross off your bucket list.
Skydiving
Ready to leap from a plane? The Chattanooga Skydiving Company in nearby Jasper, Tennessee, offers tandem jumps for first-timers. After a brief ground lesson, soar to altitude with your instructor, then freefall for 60 or 120 seconds before parachuting down with unparalleled views of the Tennessee River Valley. Video packages available. Progress to solo jumps with their training programs.
High Point Zip Adventure at Ruby Falls
Not ready to fly solo? The High Point Zip Adventure at Ruby Falls elevates you through the treetops via obstacle courses with ladders, nets, tunnels, bridges, and zip lines. Tailored for kids (ages 6-10), youth (11+), and adults, the Blue Diamond course for grown-ups ends with a zip boasting panoramic Chattanooga views. Add a 40-foot climbing tower and Tower Zip Ride.
