Broke? Why Now Is the Perfect Time to Start Traveling on a Budget

When you don't have too much money, being traveler seems to be only a fantasy. You must firstly pay for your house, a new car, go few times to a nice restaurant. And in same time try to save some money for future travels, which will probably never happens, as we have more and more expenses. That's why in my opinion beeing broke is the best time to travel.

Well, they say that when you have only a few options, you have the most of your options. Being at the bottom can be the place when you have almost nothing to loose. And everything to gain.

Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose.

So if you are broke, catch your backpack and try to fight the world. Maybe you will gain some experience that is really needed nowadays, and if you will decide to come back one day, you will have no problem with finding a new, much better job.

Getting a job while traveling

We all have to eat. When I said that you can travel if you have no money, I didn't say you won't have to work. There are so many opportunities these days in almost every country in the world, that you shouldn't have problems finding work in any city if you will want it hard enough and spend some time on finding it.

If you won't be too much fussy, you should get a job. Then you can visit the city and the cities or landscapes near your town. You will see that visiting places near you is much cheaper than visiting countries hundreds or thousands miles from you. If you will have enough, you can start looking a new job in other place or country.

Only your imagination blocks you.

Just remember, that the jobs you work are only a temp jobs and when you will finish visiting all the nearest attractions, you should start searching for a new one in another place. Many people forget about that and stay in the same place for years.

Open yourself up to new possibilities and experiences. You don't need to stay and suffer in the job you don't like and the job that barely helps you with paying your bills. Find something new. Live your life.

Ok, so how to find a job in another country? Use the Internet via websites like Gumroad, UpWork or Craigslist.

Finding a place to stay in another country

If you found your job, you also must have a place to live. First of all, you should read my how to find cheap accommodation article, where I'm writing not only about hostels, but also house sharing, university housing, monasteries and other ways to find cheap accommodation.

Just make sure won't pay too much for your place to stay, because we don't want to find another city where almost all of our money goes for bills.

There is really no good time to travel

When I talk to the people one thing I can notice, that even if they want to travel, they always have so many excuses. That's why I can tell you: no matter if you have the money or not, there will never be a good time to leave your past behind and go traveling. There is no right time to do it. So why not do it right now?

I know picking up and leaving can seem scary. We like to feel secure. But I can tell you from my own experience and from the experience of people I talked with:

We like to feel 100% secure only until we dare to live our own adventure.

Conclusion

All we have to do is to find something that will move you forward. Then we take another and another step until we get the result.

Go traveling. Get some life experience, live new adventures and maybe even find new passions. Good luck!

  • Does Part-Time Travel Count as Real Travel? Insights from Travel Blogging

A few weeks ago, I read an article claiming that most travel blogs are penned by writers at home or in 9-to-5 jobs, not actively traveling. This prompted me to share my perspective: this isnt the norm among popular travel blogs. Readers echoed this in comments on our recent post, Do You Have to Quit Your Job to Travel the World? They appreciate bloggers who arent full-time nomads, as many inspire drastic life changes like quitting jobs or taking extended breaks. Not all top blogs feature constan

  • Why Monsoon is the Perfect Time to Visit Shimla: Escape the Crowds

For a long time, I kept myself away from traveling to Shimla, and this was for one reason – Shimla is a popular tourist destination and remains crowded most of the time of the year. But then, a part of me also always want to visit popular places and see what actually made them so popular in tourist charts in the first place. Why is i
