Hilton Bogotá Hotel Review: Premier Stay in Chapinero Neighborhood
This detailed review of Hilton Bogotá Hotel is part of my "Where to Stay In..." series, showcasing firsthand experiences for travelers.
Visiting a massive city like Bogotá for the first time can feel intimidating. With 7 million residents and its vast scale, I sought comfort in a trusted, upscale stay. Chapinero emerged as the ideal neighborhood—home to international offices, trendy coffee shops, restaurants, and bars—making it perfect for easing into the city.
Choosing Hilton Bogotá was an easy decision. While I often favor boutique hotels, the reliability of a familiar brand provided reassurance. The service impressed from arrival: the concierge swiftly handled my luggage, and despite early check-in before 2pm, I accessed my room immediately for a post-flight refresh.
My room featured a spacious glass-walled shower with a rain showerhead, stunning views from oversized windows, and an ultra-comfortable king bed—creating instant relaxation.
Exploring nearby, I found restaurants, coffee shops, and stores within blocks. The in-room dining menu was affordable with vegetarian options, but I ventured out. Ground-floor Devoción—linked to my favorite Brooklyn spot—delivered exceptional coffee (17 grain varieties, pour-overs, siphon, French press, Kyoto cold brew) in a stylish setting, ideal for work.
The hotel's modern lobby and artistic design exuded contemporary style. Weekends buzzed with events like red-carpet nights at Levels bar, yet double-glazed windows ensured silent, restful sleep despite Carrera 7's bustle—among my best in Colombia.
The breakfast buffet was exceptional—one of Latin America's best, with variety to match. The spacious, well-equipped gym addressed Bogotá's challenges (congestion, 8,612 ft altitude), opening to a heated outdoor pool—perfect for lounging.

Sunday brunch at La Ventana Restaurant, led by Executive Chef Nicolas Piatti, was a highlight. Live stations offered fresh fish, handmade pasta, farm-to-table Colombian produce, eggs, waffles, cheeses, salads, and divine desserts. Devoción coffee elevated it further. Open to non-guests, it's a must for special meals.

Chapinero's location shines: Zona G dining, malls (El Castillo, Avenida Chile), and historic center (20-min cab) nearby. Taxis are cheap; airport ride ~25 mins. Staff excels at recommendations and reservations.
Ideal for business (financial district) or leisure, Hilton Bogotá delivered comfort, cuisine, amenities, and service—kickstarting my trip perfectly.
