Polaroid of the Week: Discovering the Alien Zone in Roswell, New Mexico

Polaroid of the Week: Discovering the Alien Zone in Roswell, New MexicoDuring our epic New Mexico road trip, we've marveled at breathtaking natural wonders like White Sands National Park, the Gila Wilderness, Gila Cliff Dwellings, and Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Tucked in the vast expanses of southern New Mexico, it was a thrill to visit the quirky town of Roswell en route to Las Vegas, New Mexico (not the Nevada one). We immersed ourselves in the legendary 1947 UFO crash that catapulted this small community into worldwide fame.

Roswell is a paradise for UFO enthusiasts, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors yearly as a true mecca for believers. The International UFO Museum and Research Center offers in-depth documentation of the mystery, while local businesses add whimsical charm with cartoonish green aliens adorning everything from fast-food outlets to pawn shops, diffusing any eerie undertones.

We'll share our own insights on the Roswell incident in an upcoming article. For now, we had a blast at the Alien Zone shop and 'alien testing facility' on Main Street—playing foosball, enjoying a cold beer, and making new friends amid the extraterrestrial fun.
