Located one hour from Uruapan and two from the city of Morelia, the state capital, the Magical Town of Paracho awaits you to let yourself be enveloped by its pre-Hispanic culture. Paracho's name comes from a Chichimeca word, which means ‘’ offering ’’ and is known as the guitar capital of the world.

 

One of the most important activities the Magical Town of Paracho, is the elaboration of stringed musical instruments of the highest quality, this has caused it to host international conventions such as the International Guitar Fair and the International Guitar Festival of Paracho , this destination offers its visitors a cultural experience, full of magical chords that evoke the characteristic tradition of the place.

 

Paracho is also known for offering great delicacies from the Purepecha cuisine, where you can taste corundas(a kind of tamales), chirupo (a type of stew), uchepos (sweet corn tamales) and the famous bread cooked with wood.

 

How to get to Paracho?

There are different ways to get to Paracho from Morelia, you can choose to take a bus from the central station, the travel time is estimated between two and a half hours to three hours, there are also taxis that offer you the service to take you to Paracho, travel time is two and a half hours. There is also the option to rent a car in the capital and from there drive to Paracho.
