Discover the Hidden Tunnels & Pinacoteca of Our Lady of Belen
Another interesting space in the same enclosure is the Pinacoteca de Asientos that treasures jewels such as altarpieces and canvases from the colonial period, many of which are the work of Miguel Cabrera, a painter from New Spain and a great exponent of the Baroque style in the Viceroyalty.
You can also find unique paintings in all of Latin America such as “La Circuncisión del Niño Jesús” (The Circumcision of the Child Jesus), a representation of the Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River and the true Portrait of the Virgen Santísima de la Tristeza (Blessed Virgin of Sadness).
