Tenam Puente Archaeological Zone: Ancient Terraces, Ball Courts & Trade Hub
Its strategic location, on the route that communicates the Altos de Chiapas and Guatemala, favored the zone to have access to commercial networks of great importance, something that can be appreciated in the alabaster objects, sea shells and metals that it protects.
Tenam Puente stands out because it represents the transition from classical to post-classical and one of the least studied stages of Chiapan archaeology. The citadel offers fabulous views of the Comitán plains, framed by multiple trees that enhance its beauty.
