Pennsylvania Caves Association Offers Special Student Discounts for 2020 Season

Several members of the Pennsylvania Caves Association (PCA), the statewide organization representing show caves across Pennsylvania, have announced a special discount program for school students and their immediate family members upon reopening in 2020.

Pennsylvania Caves Association Offers Special Student Discounts for 2020 Season

April, May, and early June are typically exciting months for students in Pennsylvania, marking the end of the school year and the start of enriching field trips before summer break.

Due to Governor Tom Wolf's suspension of in-school classes for the remainder of the 2020 school year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, all planned spring field trips were canceled.

PCA President Terri Schleiden and Vice President Ann Dunlavy stated: "Spring field trip season allows our member caves to educate and entertain students of all ages through guided tours of Pennsylvania's natural geological wonders. Students experience firsthand what they've learned in class, safely exploring underground and deepening their understanding."

Participating PCA members will offer discounted prices to students (and their immediate families) from schools that had reserved field trips to their caves. To claim the discount, present the student's school name, grade, and teacher at the ticket center. This offer applies to all regular tours throughout the 2020 season.

Parents and guardians should verify field trip details with teachers and contact individual caves with questions. Participating caves include: Crystal Cave (Kutztown), Indian Echo Caverns at Echo Dell (Hummelstown), Lincoln Caverns & Whisper Rocks (Huntingdon), Lost River Caverns (Hellertown), Penn's Cave & Wildlife Park (Centre Hall), and Woodward Cave (Woodward). All caves are implementing CDC-recommended safety measures, including social distancing, before reopening.

In Switzerland, children
