Top Scenic Bike Routes Along Asturias' Rivers

Asturias, in northern Spain, is a cyclist's dream destination. Explore pristine rivers and unspoiled natural landscapes on two wheels. These routes offer breathtaking scenery and memorable adventures. Inflate your tires and pedal into paradise!

The Path of the Bear (La Senda del Oso)

One of Asturias' most celebrated routes for cyclists and hikers of all skill levels, this former railway is now a scenic Greenway through Quirós, Santo Adriano, Proaza, and Teverga. Keep an eye out for the elusive Cantabrian brown bear. Covering approximately 30 km in an inverted 'Y' shape, complete it in one vigorous day or split into two stages to savor the surroundings. Trace the Trubia River—first on your left, then right—along paths between the river and road. Ideal for a day trip near Oviedo, the regional capital.

Pass through Pintueles, Anayo, and Sietes amid dense forests and rugged terrain along the Piloña River. Midway in Villaviciosa, explore the Ría de Villaviciosa Partial Nature Reserve.
