Design Your Banner for the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts: Call for Entries Now Open
The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts invites submissions for its renowned juried fine art exhibition, Images 2021. Due to ongoing COVID-19 uncertainties, this will be an online showcase featuring drawings, paintings, mixed media, photography, hand-pulled prints, watercolors, fiber, paper, and digital art.
Juror Betsey Batchelor is an accomplished artist, teacher, and Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at Arcadia University in Philadelphia. Holding an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BFA from The University of the Arts, her exhibitions include Woodmere Art Museum, Dartmouth College, and Swarthmore College. She has received grants from the Pennsylvania and Rhode Island Councils on the Arts and is a MacDowell Colony Fellow.
Open to Pennsylvania residents, Images 2021 accepts digital images of original works created in the last three years. Artists aged 16-26, including students, are encouraged to apply.
Prizes total at least $1,800, including Best of Show, merit awards, and category winners for best pastel, drawing, photograph, and student submission.
Submit entries at https://arts-festival.com/images-juried-exhibition. Deadline: June 4, 2021.
The Festival also seeks entries for its signature banner competition, proceeding even if the event is virtual. Banners (15-20 feet long) must be visible from both sides, securely constructed, and free of religious, partisan, or commercial content. Local nonprofits are encouraged to celebrate their missions.
Prizes awarded in professional, general, and youth categories by a jury (TBD). Deliver banners to the Festival office by 5:00 p.m., June 18, 2021.
