Frank's Deep-Fried Deviled Eggs: A Crispy Twist on a Classic Foodie Friday Favorite
Deviled eggs are not only delicious but also nutritious. Two deviled eggs (one whole egg) provide 6 grams of protein, folate, vitamins B-6 and B-12 to help convert food into energy, and multiple forms of vitamin A, among other benefits.
At Frank's in Pawleys Island, they elevate this classic by dipping egg whites in a milk-and-panko batter, deep-frying until golden, then filling with creamy yolk mixture. Topped with jalapeño and bacon, it's pure indulgence—nutrition aside, it's worth every bite.
Deep-Fried Deviled Eggs Recipe
Ingredients:
6 hard-boiled eggs
2 Tbsp mayonnaise
2 Tbsp cooked, crumbled bacon
2 Tbsp minced pickled jalapeño
Salt and pepper, to taste
Halve the boiled eggs and remove yolks. In a bowl, mash yolks with mayonnaise, 1 Tbsp bacon, and 1 Tbsp jalapeño to form a smooth paste. Season with salt and pepper.
Dip egg whites in milk, then panko, repeating for a thick coating. Deep-fry until golden brown. Pipe yolk mixture into whites and garnish with remaining bacon-jalapeño mix.
