Memorial Weekend Traffic Updates
Temporary road closures and patterns prioritize safety and flow. Hotels and attractions remain accessible—plan ahead.
Starting Friday at 6 a.m., in Myrtle Beach, northbound Ocean Boulevard closes (except emergencies) from 29th Avenue North to South Ocean Boulevard and Kings Highway.
A one-way, 23-mile traffic loop operates Friday-Sunday, 10 p.m.-2 a.m.: From 29th Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard south to Kings Highway near Myrtle Beach Airport, up Harrelson Boulevard to U.S. 501, north on S.C. 31, south on Robert Grissom Parkway to U.S. 17 Bypass, back to Ocean Boulevard.
Off-hours, access Ocean Boulevard only at Kings Highway lights. Avenues 8th North, 16th North, 6th South, and 17th South close for emergencies.
Memorial Weekend Airport Access
After 9 p.m., Myrtle Beach International Airport limits entry due to nearby diversions. Follow these routes:
Entry:
- Harrelson Boulevard exit from 17 Bypass North only.
- Harrelson to Jetport Road (main entrance).
- Southbound 17 Bypass passengers: U-turn to Harrelson from North.
Exit:
- Jetport Road to south Harrelson Boulevard.
- Harrelson south to South Kings Highway.
- Northbound to city/North Myrtle Beach: South Kings to Farrow Parkway or 544 to 17 Bypass North.
