Little River ShrimpFest: Family-Friendly Fall Festival Along the Scenic Waterway

Little River ShrimpFest: Family-Friendly Fall Festival Along the Scenic Waterway

October ranks among my top favorite months in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Its mild, warm weather, lower humidity, and abundance of outdoor festivals make it a hit with locals and visitors alike. One annual highlight I never miss is the Little River ShrimpFest.

Marking its 16th year along the historic Little River waterfront, ShrimpFest flies somewhat under the radar compared to the larger Blue Crab Festival. Yet it offers a more relaxed atmosphere with fewer crowds—perfect for families with young children.

This two-day event runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 9, 2021, and Sunday, October 10, 2021. Expect family fun including a children's area, face painting, stilt walkers, balloon artists, live entertainment on two stages, and about 150 vendors with arts, crafts, businesses, and community booths. Indulge in fresh local seafood from Little River waterfront restaurants, plus classic festival foods from vendors.
