Arizona Aloha Festival at Tempe Beach Park: Immerse in South Pacific Cultures, March 9-10, 2019

Put on your favorite Hawaiian shirt or tropical attire, cue up some classic Don Ho tunes, and head to the Arizona Aloha Festival at Tempe Beach Park on March 9-10, 2019. This two-day family-friendly event celebrates Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan, and other South Pacific cultures with vibrant dance and musical performances, ukulele lessons, authentic cuisine, children's crafts, and more.

Both days offer a full schedule of activities, with free admission encouraging visitors to attend both. Here's a highlight of experiences available:

  • Learn to string a flower lei, carve a Tiki, and speak basic Hawaiian phrases.
  • Grab your ukulele—or borrow one from the festival—and enjoy free lessons from volunteers. No prior experience needed; master a few chords and strumming patterns.
  • Join the Kanikapila ukulele jam sessions at Aunty Aloha’s all-day Hawaiian music fest under the tent for a relaxed, island-style gathering.
  • Shop 140 booths in two marketplace areas for tropical treasures, including surfer shorts, Hawaiian coffees, instruments, flower leis, palm frond baskets and hats, carved bone necklaces, fresh flowers, and heritage jewelry.
  • Enjoy diverse island music and witness the grace of Hawaiian, Samoan, Philippine, and other traditional dances.
  • Explore Ohana (family) Village with outrigger canoes, rugby demonstrations, cultural displays, clubs, and family activities.
  • Enter two raffles for a chance to win a five-day trip to Maui.

Bring friends or your entire ohana to the Arizona Aloha Festival at Tempe Beach Park. It’s the perfect weekend escape, offering an authentic taste of South Pacific cultures—the next best thing to an island vacation.
