Why Morning Squeeze is Our Favorite Breakfast Spot in Downtown Tempe

Why Morning Squeeze is Our Favorite Breakfast Spot in Downtown Tempe

Breakfast is my favorite meal and a key reason I eagerly start the day. That's why I was excited to visit Morning Squeeze, the latest gem in Downtown Tempe's breakfast lineup, at Mill Avenue and Seventh Street, just west of Zipp's Sports Grill.

Our visit was even better as we brought our dog, Zoey. Morning Squeeze truly lives up to its dog-friendly reputation with a spacious, sunny patio where Zoey felt right at home.

Here are five reasons we love this Tempe breakfast hotspot:

  1. The ambiance – Vibrant colors, retro-modern furniture, and hanging plants create a warm, inviting, quirky interior. The patio offers ample seating with bright orange chairs and tables for larger groups.
  2. The menu – Choices abound, from omelets, pancakes, waffles, French toast, and breakfast sandwiches to creative Benedicts. Unique options include Breakfast Tacos, Cool Beans Rancheros, Protein Pancakes, and the Belfer Fit Bowl with brown rice, quinoa, cilantro, scallions, and egg whites. Lunch features salads, burgers, and sandwiches.
  3. Dog menu items – Beyond pet-friendly, they offer dog treats like the Chow Hound Scramble (chicken, cheese, egg). Zoey devoured hers; next time, we'll try Doggy Biscuits and Gravy.
  4. The staff – Friendly and efficient, they greeted Zoey warmly, guessed her breed, and provided a water bowl—a thoughtful touch.
  5. The food – Exceptional quality seals the deal. My 'My Eggs My Way' featured fluffy scrambled eggs, perfectly seasoned hash browns, and thick, delicious bacon. My husband's CrossFit egg white omelet was a healthy standout. We'll return to explore more.

Visit Morning Squeeze at 690 S. Mill Ave., Ste. 110, Tempe, AZ 85281. Open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

People are always talking about the great nightlife in Ballard, the cutting edge restaurants, the Ballard Market.  But I’m here to tell you about the delicious breakfasts to be had-mainly the kind that are filled with good old fashioned filling carbs. Senor Moose. Photo by Joan Magnano-Damm. I think the best French toast in town is at Senor Moose Café, at 5242 Leary Avenue NW, a café that has been written up in the New York Times for dinner, but it’s their French toast that has me salivating
