Four Peaks Oktoberfest at Tempe Town Lake: Beer, Music, and Family Fun (Oct. 11-13, 2019)

October brings fall colors, pumpkins, cooler weather, and one of Tempe's premier events: Four Peaks Oktoberfest at Tempe Town Lake. This beloved festival, held October 11-13, 2019, draws thousands for beer, live music, games, food, and festive lederhosen.

Arrive early Friday, Saturday, or Sunday to enjoy the full experience. Friday kicks off with Four Peaks Brewing Company's Kilt Lifter Tap Room, featuring a variety of beers, TVs broadcasting college football, NFL games, and MLB playoffs. Small Goal Soccer hosts the coed bracket of their 4v4 Soctoberfest tournament. Cap the night with live bands like 2 Tone Lizard Kings and Black Bottom Liners.

Saturday offers non-stop action. Start with AZTV7 Das 28th Oktoberfest Runnin’ for the Bräts: a 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk, and 1 Mile Run/Walk. The men’s 4v4 Soctoberfest bracket continues, alongside AZ Sports League's coed grass volleyball tournament. Enjoy polka, covers, country, rock, and alternative bands, headlined by Instant Classics and Wyves.

Sunday features a kickball tournament by AZ Sports League and the Main Event Entertainment Dachshund Invitational (schedule TBA), pitting 32 pure-bred German dachshunds in heats, culminating in a top-4 finale. Dance at the Lyft Polka Dance Stage, then rock out to headliner Duane Moore & Mogollon.

Families love the kid-friendly Kinderfest with games, crafts, and activities all weekend, plus amusement park rides for all ages.

Beer gardens showcase local and international brews, including German favorites, with wine options available. Savor traditional brats and sauerkraut from Von Hanson’s Meats & Spirits, alongside carnival classics like turkey legs, corn dogs, nachos, and funnel cakes.
