Surf Café Living: Coastal Café Life and Creative Inspiration on Ireland’s Atlantic Coast

You don’t necessarily need to go to the ends of the Earth to be inspired by the great outdoors. It can just as easily be found in Ireland as it can in Nepal, and Jane and Myles Lamberth, authors of Surf Café Living, prove just that. From their newly renovated home on Ireland’s Atlantic coast, thirty-somethings Jane and Myles Lambert are living their dream – running a busy coastal café and their new funky shop, whilst making the most of the idyllic lifestyle they have created for themselves on the coast.

Surf Café Living encapsulates all that is great about coastal living; early morning surfs, community yoga, sensational sunsets, gloriously messy beach barbecues, outside gatherings and candlelit dinners, the fresh sea air and the sand between your toes. It is a million miles away from the rat-race lifestyle many of us have to contend with. Anyone, they prove, can make a change.

“I don’t think a day passes where I don’t at some point hit the beach. That is what I love most about being here. There is always time. I love the feeling of the sand, love the fresh air and the scenery. It helps me unwind after work, let go of any issues. Just being by the ocean energises me. I love it. The energy of the waves.”

Surf Café Living is the couple’s second book and follows Jane and Myles’ have transformation of a rundown 100-year old cottage into a ‘country meets beach’ house, and the book is teeming with design inspiration, tips and ideas, alongside 50 mouth-watering recipes and suggestions for making the most of outdoor living. From building your own firepit, to the perfect outdoor shower, to keeping chickens and harvesting herbs.
