Dallas Arboretum’s Pumpkin Village: Inside the Art of the Pumpkin

A Dallas tradition for more than a decade, the Autumn at the Arboretum event is a highlight of the city’s seasonal calendar. This year’s theme, “Art of the Pumpkin,” celebrates naturally occurring shapes and patterns found in pumpkins, gourds, and squash. Visitors are encouraged to spot the swirling and shooting‑star motifs that adorn the village, which remains open through November 25.

The vision is brought to fruition by the Arboretum’s horticulture team, who collaborate on the event’s theme and develop the visual layout of the village. They then travel to Floydada, Texas—roughly five hours west of Dallas—to source the finest pumpkins, gourds, and squash that will populate the village.
