Dallas Holiday Weekend: Light Shows, Snow Tubing, & Family Fun

Day 1 (Thursday)

Start your weekend at Enchant Christmas in Arlington’s Globe Life Park, open until Dec. 31. The attraction boasts the world’s largest Christmas light maze, an ice‑skating pond, live music, 21 gourmet food trucks, and a chance to meet Santa. Open Tuesday‑Sunday 5 pm–11 pm with free parking.

Day 2 (Friday)

Seeking snow in Dallas? The Gaylord Texan offers a complete winter wonderland. Enjoy Santa’s Wild Workshop snow tubing, vibrant ice sculptures, and 20‑foot‑tall ice slides featured in “ICE! Featuring ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.’

Follow the snow adventure with the Cowboys Christmas Spectacular at The Star in Frisco. On Friday and Saturday evenings at 6 p.m., the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, R&B dancers, and Santa deliver a festive show. Admission and parking are free; the event runs through Dec. 22.

Day 3 (Saturday)

Whether you’re traveling alone or with family, don’t miss the world’s tallest indoor Christmas tree at Galleria Dallas during its Illumination Celebration. The towering tree lights up to choreographed music daily until Dec. 24. Afterwards, you can ice‑skate or shop, and Santa will be in the village to receive gift wishes. Open daily through Dec. 24.

Day 4 (Sunday)

For a meaningful cultural experience, catch the 3 p.m. performance of Langston Hughes’ holiday classic “Black Nativity” at the Bishop Arts Theatre. In its 14th season, the family‑friendly play blends praise dancing and soulful music to lift the holiday spirit. Shows run through Dec. 17, so book early.

After the play, head to Fair Park’s Holiday Wonder. Sample international cuisine while strolling through a winter wonderland adorned with iconic holiday Chinese lanterns. The event runs daily until Jan. 7, 2018, 5:30 p.m.–10 p.m.
