Discover the Latest Lineup and Venue Updates for This Year's Edge of Texas Festival

Almost time for the 2024 Edge of Texas, a two‑day festival in downtown Dallas that celebrates the best of Texas culture. The festival runs Friday, Sept. 7, and Saturday, Sept. 8, and features a stellar lineup of speakers, performers, and chefs.

New Venue Layout

Unlike last year’s spread across multiple Dallas locations, this year’s events are consolidated into two venues. The Friday‑night kickoff party and Saturday’s storytelling sessions will take place at Belo Mansion in the heart of downtown Dallas. The Saturday‑night finale will be held at The Empire Room in the Design District. See the full schedule here.

Friday Night: Film & Music

The opening night is now a 90‑minute film and music showcase featuring never‑before‑seen clips from “They Called Us Outlaws,” a documentary about the outlaw music movement. Performers include Jack Ingram, Holly Williams, and more.

Saturday Storytelling Sessions

Saturday’s program offers six simultaneous panels across two ballrooms. Choices include:

  • “Life After Reality TV” with Dallas residents Rachel Lindsay (The Bachelorette) and Alyssa Edwards (RuPaul’s Drag Race).
  • Sports media panel with local anchor Dale Hansen, discussing why he covers more than sports.
  • True‑crime panel featuring Toby Shook, the original prosecutor in the Darlie Routier case.
  • Entrepreneur panel with Dallas entrepreneurs such as Elizabeth Chambers Hammer, founder and CEO of Bird Bakery in Highland Park Village.

Saturday Night Celebration

The Empire Room hosts the finale, offering a gourmet dinner from chefs Callie Speer (Austin’s Holy Roller), Bruno Davaillon (Dallas’ Bullion), and Houston pitmaster Ronnie Killen. Bodacious BBQ from Houston provides pitmaster services, delivering premium cuts and bites. Music is delivered by Dallas DJ Sober and the Minor Mishap Marching Band later in the evening.

Accommodation Deals

Edge of Texas attendees enjoy special rates at the Mansion at Turtle Creek and The Adolphus Hotel. The Adolphus, newly renovated and within walking distance of the events, offers modern luxury, while the Mansion near Oaklawn provides upscale comfort. Check out the promo codes here.
