Fall Highlights in the Golden Isles: New Attractions, Restaurants, and Shops

Planning a trip to the Golden Isles this fall? Discover the newest attractions, restaurants, and events that promise to delight your senses and inspire repeat visits.

New Tree Spirits on St. Simons Island

Since early 2016, four enchanting new tree spirits have joined the collection on St. Simons Island. Take a scenic bike ride around the island to find them, soaking in the beautiful fall weather and local landscapes.

Here’s where to spot them:

  1. Golden Isles Welcome Center, 529 Beachview Drive
A nearly 7-foot-tall mermaid spirit stands prominently in a tree in the parking lot.
  2. Mallery Park, Mallery Street
A vigilant turtle spirit watches over families near the picnic area facing Butler Field.
  3. Mallery Park, Mallery Street
The second spirit here is across the street, adjacent to the basketball court.
  4. Gascoigne Bluff, Arthur J. Moore Drive
Among many trees, this one is toward the marsh, nearer the picnic pavilion than the marina.

The Beach House Restaurant

The Beach House debuted as part of Jekyll Island Holiday Inn Resort’s $22 million renovation. Featuring outdoor seating and water views, this full-service spot includes 3,000 square feet of event space for meetings, reunions, and weddings. Enjoy fresh, locally sourced seafood, house-made pizzas, salads, and pasta. The Tap Room offers 24 draft beers, with craft options expertly paired to dishes.

Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it hosts private events, live entertainment, and happy hours. Family perks include a kids’ menu, indoor shuffleboard, and outdoor bocce.

Public House Coffee in Historic Downtown Brunswick

Freshly ground coffee aromas now grace Gloucester Street. This socially conscious roaster and gathering place suits Historic Downtown Brunswick perfectly. Born in Colorado, it launched in Jacksonville, FL, in 2015, with this second spot opening earlier this year as a local favorite.

Indulge in classic coffee, Godiva hot chocolate, ginger lemonade, homemade pastries, and over 40 daily biscotti varieties. Our pick: chocolate-covered coffee beans!

When You Go: 502B Gloucester Street, Brunswick. Open 6:00am–8:00pm, later on weekends.

Edward on Saint Simons Expands Showroom

Beloved local florist Edward on Saint Simons has enlarged its Redfern Village showroom. For years, Edward and team have adorned Golden Isles events, weddings, and homes.

Expert in handmade arrangements for weddings, proms, parties, and funerals, the shop also offers seasonal décor, unique hostess gifts, and distinctive trinkets. The expansion provides more gift options.
