DFW Restaurant Week 2023: Expert‑Curated Must‑Try Restaurants (Aug 6‑Sept 5)

After an eventful year, DFW Restaurant Week returns for its 24th edition, giving diners a full month—from Aug. 6 to Sept. 5—to sample Dallas’ finest menus. Every meal sold sends 20 % of proceeds to two local charities—North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home—so your indulgence also feeds the community.

Below are the top picks that deserve a spot on your agenda.

Solo Restaurant Week:

Jalisco Norte is the sole location on the Margarita Mile, making it the perfect choice for solo diners. Pair their iconic “Rita Champ” cocktail with signature dishes like sopa de tortilla verde, pescado a la Veracruzana, and Mexican churros.

After a leisurely afternoon at NorthPark Center, head to Eataly for dinner. This Italian mega‑food store houses three restaurants—Il Pastaio, Terra, and La Pizza & La Pasta—each participating in Restaurant Week.

Explore the Dallas Arts District’s cultural offerings, then settle into Sloane’s Corner bar for a fantastic three‑course menu and a stellar vegetarian option.

With the Family:

Stroll through the Historic West End to soak up Dallas’s heritage, then enjoy Wild Bills before heading to Y.O. Ranch. The steakhouse’s Western ambiance and extensive menu make it a family favorite—don’t miss the red‑chili‑rubbed salmon.

Teach your kids the game of Red Light, Green Light at Texas de Brazil, an upscale Brazilian steakhouse with all‑you‑can‑eat grilled meats and a vibrant salad bar. When you’re ready for more, flip the card to green; when you want a pause, flip it to red.

Let the kids play at Klyde Warren Park, then walk across the street to Yardbird, where they can indulge in classic fried chicken and mac & cheese. Parents will find plenty of other options.

Convenient Cuisine in Your Hotel:

At Hotel ZaZa Dallas, Dragonfly offers innovative cuisine and a dramatic interior. Order the creamy tomato soup and Chilean sea bass during Restaurant Week.

The iconic Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek is also participating. Sample the pork belly with watermelon or the shrimp and grits, and reserve early to enjoy happy hour at the Mansion Bar.

Primo’s, a newer addition to The Statler’s Downtown Dallas hotel, serves high‑quality Mexican fare and cocktails. While not on the Restaurant Week menu, the añejo old fashioned is a must‑try.

Restaurant Romance:

Al Biernat’s offers an extensive wine list alongside famed steaks, making it a must‑visit. Located near Oak Lawn, it features both lunch and dinner menus during the week.

St. Martin’s Wine Bistro on Greenville Ave is often called Texas’ most romantic spot. Its French décor and dishes like boeuf Bourgignon and filet de Saumon create a memorable evening.

For prime rib lovers, Lawry’s The Prime Rib in North Dallas remains iconic. If you’re in the mood for dessert, try C.C. Brown’s hot fudge sundae sampler.
