Links We Love: Curated Picks for Armchair Travelers (August 25, 2012)

Links We Love, a compendium of what we're loving right now. Happy armchair traveling.

I'm in Paris for the weekend, figuring out how to slow down while in a big city. So far that means borrowing a jumprope from Le Meurice for a skip through the Tuileries. Listening to a concert at the Cloitre des Billetes. Taking my time at the dessert cart at George V. And appreciating the slow, deliberate work of master artisans I meet through the very cool connector Gaelle Dupré Legros from Heart & Crafts. – Jeralyn, Editorial Director

My Parisian itinerary also includes a visit to the hamam, a tour of the romantic covered passageways of Paris, and dinner at Le Bristol. (Not too shabby.) What's even cooler: You can enter to win this itinerary for yourself. – Jeralyn

Sadly, I will not make it to Versailles this weekend. So let's virtually #armchairtravel together for five minutes right now. There is an insanely large, shiny, feathery, awesome art exhibition on view through the 30th of September. – Jeralyn

It's way too early to think about the next summer games, but I was interested to see the Rio 2016 Olympics logo and how it was made. – Pavia, Founder/CEO

There are a few weeks in the Journeys Awards, a Louis Vuitton-sponsored contest wherein film entries must address "what do you encounter when you travel?" They're all lush and gorgeous, of course (it's LV), but of special note is are Taj Musco's Encounter and Joan Cobos's Laura. – Pavia
