Allbirds, the sustainable footwear company that launched the most comfortable travel shoe ever, just came out with a line of Japanese-inspired flip-flops made from carbon-negative Brazilian sugarcane. The company is making the environmentally friendly material available to other shoe manufacturers in hopes that it'll spread throughout the market. There are a few adult movie billboards left that remind patrons of its sexy past, but this multifunctional cultural space and cinema is truly unrecognizable these days and has become one of the city's bohemian hotspots.
