FathomHQ s Top Links: October 31, 2015 Edition

What we're clicking on and talking about this week at #FathomHQ.

Gustav Klimt fans should check out Woman in Gold, a film released last spring that tells the amazing story of Maria Altmann, a Nazi victim, who fought her way to the US Supreme Court to get the Austrian government to return what is arguably Klimt's most famous painting, a portrait of her aunt Adele Bloch-Bauer. – Berit, editor

Recently, a story on Skift about the future of food tourism said that, for a food tourist, "Learning about a particular food, or even better a regional food culture is the big draw. Vacations and trips revolve around distinct foods and flavors, not restaurants." I guess I'm a food tourist, because staying at an Airbnb on-site at Sugar House Creamery in New York's Adirondacks sounds like the best idea ever. – Daniel, editorial assistant

I'm definitely adding 750 Years in Paris to my Christmas wish list this year. Paris-based Vincent Mahé gives us a visual history lesson of the city through a series of gorgeous illustrations focusing on a single building over seven-plus centuries. – Becky, assistant editor

Fareness is the latest travel booking website to catch my attention. Instead of selecting specific dates and destinations, the website allows you to loosely choose a time period and vacation type. They'll take care of zoning in on the right destination. – Berit

An ongoing photo series looks at a select few in Europe that have traded the city life for self-sufficiency in the scrublands. These guys are taking sustainability to the next level. – Daniel

Cycling around Norway sounds like an adventure of a lifetime, especially if it includes moose encounters on the bike path in Gevingåsen. – Becky

Buy custom art and help support a fellow traveler with the launch of Sami Harron's new website. The nomadic artist is raising money to see the world. You can help make it happen and receive a nice piece of art in return. – Berit
