What does "Love Local" mean to you?
"It’s understanding the integral role local businesses play in creating a vibrant community, and how owners, employees, and the businesses themselves are essential to the Coachella Valley's vibe." —Jeffrey Bernstein, Owner/President, Destination PSP
Few places embody the hip, quintessentially midcentury modern vibe of Greater Palm Springs like Destination PSP. This design-focused retailer, renowned for customized and original souvenirs, has become a must-stop for visitors exploring downtown Palm Springs' shops and restaurants. It all started in 2007 when owner and president Jeffrey Bernstein visited the area, fell in love with its stunning beauty and architecture, and relocated from New York City.
Searching for unique souvenirs to send back home, he found only generic options. "Everything was generic," he recalls. "And with major events like the Palm Springs International Film Festival and Modernism Week, there were no dedicated souvenirs."
So, he created his own.

What began with retro t-shirts and film festival merch has evolved into a treasure trove of specialty items—from apparel and accessories to housewares and wall art. Each piece, or as Jeffrey calls it, a "tangible memory," bursts with color and draws inspiration from Greater Palm Springs' history and culture. Since opening in 2012, Destination PSP has partnered with over 20 local events, organizations, and nonprofits, including the Palm Springs Modern Committee, Rancho Mirage Writers Festival, American Documentary Film Festival, and Comic Con Palm Springs, to produce exclusive, event-branded gifts.
"We believe in our business, our partners, the events we support, and our local vendors," Jeffrey says. Nearly everything in the store is designed in-house and made locally. Signature midcentury modern tissue box covers, for example, are printed and hand-assembled right here in Greater Palm Springs. Even their swimwear is designed on-site.
"I firmly believe locally owned businesses define our neighborhoods and communities," he shares. "That's why people visit. Great weather and golf are everywhere, but combined with these cool local spots? That's what makes us special."
