Curated Links We Love: July 16, 2016 – Pokémon Go's Surprising Connections

Curated Links We Love: July 16, 2016 – Pokémon Go s Surprising Connections

Though I grew up playing Pokémon, I've been cynical about the Pokémon Go mobile game, certain it meant the end of human interaction as we know it. As of last week's release, I've read many articles about how the game is bringing people together and especially love how the game is helping locals fall in love with their cities. Who'd have thought to travel for the Pokémon? – Becky, assistant editor

The already stunning grounds of Château de Versailles have been outfitted with mesmerizing mirrors, waterfalls, and fog machines as part of an installation by Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson, running through October 30, 2016. – Daniel

Speaking of European monuments, I've been obsessed with Fendi's stunning renovation of the Trevi Fountain in Rome. The fashion house put their investment to good use, staging their 90th anniversary fashion show in the fountain. Have a look. – Pavia, CEO

In anticipation of its reopening on June 17, the Tate in London created a Time Machine to see how art has changed in the past 100 years. So fun. – Becky

Wondering if it's nuts to already be thinking about booking my Christmas accommodations. The relaunched Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa in Laguna Beach, California, is just a short drive from my grandparents' house and a million times cuter then any of the other Orange County hotels. – Berit, editor

I'm bookmarking Honor & Folly Orchard Farmhouse for a fall weekend with friends. The Lake Michigan retreat, opened by Detroit's Meghan McEwen (travel writer and proprietor of the adorable Honor & Folly B&B), has five well-appointed bedrooms, 100-year-old trees, rocking chairs on a wraparound porch, a library of gardening books, and an outdoor fire pit. – Jeralyn, editorial director

After learning that certain animals, particularly insects, can detect wavelengths of light, I've been deeply intrigued by the world we, with our regular old eyes, cannot see. British photographer Edward Thompson took that curiosity to the next level, shooting some of world's most environmentally sensitive areas with rare infrared film. – Daniel, editorial assistant

I have a new guilt pleasure: the Instagram feed @overheardla. To wit: "We would be the only house in LA with an Audi A7, a 93 Mercedes, and a Honda Civic. We scream: New Money, Old Money, and No Money." Big hearts for silly geographic profiling. – Pavia
