Native Treasures Art Market: Kicking Off Santa Fe's Premier Native American Art Season
Santa Fe boasts some of the nation's most renowned seasonal art markets, attracting thousands of visitors annually. The highly anticipated Native Treasures Art Market, a spring favorite among Native American art collectors and enthusiasts, returns during Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-27, 2018, at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center.

Produced by the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture/Laboratory of Anthropology (MIAC) on Museum Hill, Native Treasures supports MIAC's artists, exhibitions, conservation, and educational programs. Attending not only offers a premier art experience but also contributes to preserving Native arts and culture. MIAC itself features a stunning permanent collection of contemporary and traditional Native American art, rotating exhibitions, and an outdoor sculpture garden—well worth a visit.

Featuring around 200 established and emerging artists from tribes across the U.S., the market offers museum-quality jewelry, pottery, paintings, photography, clothing, textiles, beadwork, sculptures, and basketry—direct from the creators. Engage with artists, learn their inspirations, and acquire unique pieces at accessible prices.

This event provides a rare chance to own works typically seen only in galleries and museums.

The market opens Friday, May 25, with a ticketed Pre-Show Celebration, including a reception, collectors' preview sale, and Living Treasure awards. Saturday features a ticketed Champagne Breakfast, early buying, a Native Fashion Show at 2 p.m., and traditional dances in the outdoor courtyard.

On Sunday, May 27, enjoy the Street Eats food truck event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa Fe's vibrant food scene complements downtown attractions like the New Mexico Museum of Art, New Mexico History Museum, Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, and Georgia O'Keeffe Museum.
