2019 Holiday Art Market in Lake Charles: Unique Artisan Gifts and Family Fun

Finding the perfect holiday gift can feel overwhelming, but the 2019 Holiday Art Market makes it effortless and enjoyable. Held Friday through Sunday, December 6-8, at Central School (809 Kirby in Lake Charles' Historic District), this festive event features local artisans, crafts, vendors, food, entertainment, and more. Organized by the Arts Council and sponsored by Crying Eagle Brewing, it's the ideal spot to capture holiday spirit. Built in 1912 and renovated in 1993 as the area's Arts and Humanities center, Central School offers a historic backdrop worth experiencing.
Friday Night: Art & Spirits
Start the festivities on Friday, December 6, with friends or a holiday date night. Crying Eagle Brewing sponsors the "Sip and Shop" happy hour from 3-7 PM. Sample local favorites like Louisiana Lager and Hop Blooded IPA while browsing works from talented artists in a relaxed atmosphere.
Featured Artists and Vendors
Danny Allain showcases her captivating "Bones" series: watercolor depictions of animals and creatures revealing their skeletons. "My artwork is a collection from my Bones series. They are watercolor images of animals and creatures with their skeleton visible."
Sparrow Papercraft by Megg Sorensen offers handmade ornaments, decor, and cards. "I create wycinanki (vee-chee-non-key), the Polish folk art of papercutting. I make traditional motifs as well as works inspired by life in SW Louisiana. I offer a variety of art pieces and gifts, cards, ornaments, prints, and more!"
Pixel & Ink Creative, run by Daneisha Davis, features one-of-a-kind illustrations, prints, magnets, and t-shirts celebrating pop culture and Louisiana wildlife. "Pixel & Ink Creative specializes in illustration in the form of posters and art prints as well as gift products like magnets, buttons, enamel pins, and stickers."
All artists and vendors are present all three days, so you can return anytime.
Family Fun on Saturday!
On Saturday, December 7, from 10 AM to 5 PM, enjoy complimentary hot cocoa, photos with Santa, and a magical performance featuring Santa himself—perfect for all ages.
Sunday Funday!
Sunday, December 8, from Noon to 5 PM, features complimentary cocoa and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus—a wonderful family outing supporting local talent.

Satisfy sweet cravings with Eavy's Incredible Edibles by Tammie Simien-Murrell. "Made from scratch with the best whole ingredients. No artificial flavorings or additives to ensure that everything edible is incredible!" Highlights include custom chocolate shoes.
