Experience the 60th Louisiana Pirate Festival in Lake Charles: Free Family Fun, Fireworks & More
As a lifelong enthusiast of Southwest Louisiana's vibrant culture—which inspired my tourism career—festivals have always been central to my memories. Among them, the Louisiana Pirate Festival stands out as the ultimate celebration.

This year marks the 60th anniversary, making it an extra special event. Don your eyepatch, practice your pirate speak (festival-approved only!), and dive into the festivities.

The Louisiana Pirate Festival masterfully delivers the perfect mix of food, music, and entertainment—my 'festival trifecta.' Best of all, parking and admission are FREE. Families will love the carnival rides, barbecue cook-off, arm-wrestling contests, and the hilarious mayor-walking-the-plank tradition. Don't miss the grand finale: a stunning fireworks display over Lake Charles.
*The festival runs Thursday, May 4 through Sunday, May 7. Carnival rides operate from Thursday, May 4 until Sunday, May 14. Check carnival times and armband prices at https://www.louisianapiratefestival.com/.
**The festival and O'Reilly Auto Parts present the Seven Slot Society Jeep, Car & Truck Show on Saturday, May 13. Details at www.sevenslotsocietyofswla.com.
