Celebrate Earth Day: Keep Louisiana Beautiful with Community Cleanups and Nature Activities
Caring for Our Environment on Earth Day 🌎♻️
With pleasant weather featuring sunny skies peeking through clouds, many are adapting to new routines at home—learning skills, cooking, creating art, or tackling home projects. Some are embracing healthier habits like biking or neighborhood walks, fostering unexpected connections with neighbors as everyone seeks fresh air and exercise.

Spring has brought Mother Nature to life, with wildflowers blooming vibrantly—yellow, white, purple, blue, and orange petals dotting the landscape. During a recent bike ride with my husband, we captured photos of these natural wonders while noticing scattered litter along ditches. Believing most litter is accidental, we can intentionally combat it by picking it up.

This aligns perfectly with Earth Day and #LoveTheBoot Week, highlighting programs like the "Pick It Up" Calcasieu initiative. Families in quarantine can educate children on environmental stewardship, inspired by Keep Louisiana Beautiful's efforts to preserve our state's rich wildlife, waterways, and lush scenery.

This Earth Day, let's Keep Louisiana Beautiful! Grab trash bags and gloves for neighborhood cleanups, plant a garden or tree, hunt for wildflowers with kids, or create nature-inspired art. Explore activities at KeepLouisianaBeautiful.org or join local efforts at PickItUpCalcasieu.com. Share your photos and videos with #LoveTheBoot to celebrate Louisiana's stunning landscapes.
