Holiday Cheer in Downtown Lake Charles: Brass Ensemble Concert & Delicious Eats #GetDowntownLC
Experience Holiday Magic Downtown: Brass Ensemble Concert on Dec. 12 and Irresistible Eats!
As a dedicated arts and culture enthusiast, I've truly missed the lively events this year due to understandable circumstances. Thankfully, the Art 6 Ft. Apart Series has reignited that passion in 2020, giving performers a chance to shine—even if just for an evening. The grand finale is this Saturday, Dec. 12, at 5 p.m. at the Transit Center Pavilion, 115 Ryan St. Catch the Brass Ensemble from the Lake Charles Community Band performing festive Christmas tunes and patriotic favorites. I enjoyed part of the series last weekend and explored more downtown adventures.

My family and I strolled through downtown, immersing ourselves in the holiday sights and decorations. The stunning ambiance at the Historic Courthouse and its lawn, adorned with festive lights, inspired us to capture memorable photos. It's ideal for family portraits, couple shots, or kids' fun—perfect for Christmas cards honoring Lake Charles.

For brunch downtown, try Pujo St. Café or Villa Harlequin. At Pujo, my child's excited plea for beignets lit up the table—I couldn't resist! They're gone in seconds, so snap a photo fast. My standout order: the sinful shrimp & grits—five stars.

Villa Harlequin delivers showstoppers too. Their chicken & waffles—topped with blueberries and jalapeños—is a social media sensation. Or savor the Villa Scramble with scrambled eggs and pecan wood-smoked bacon. Pair it with a mimosa or robust "jeaux" coffee.

With fewer festivals this year, craft your own itinerary: enjoy seasonal sights and leave with a satisfied appetite! For Lake Charles dining, visit www.visitlakecharles.org. Art 6 Ft.
